Throw a Unique Surprise Engagement Party

The holidays are always a very popular time for couples to get engaged. So, if you have a friend who just popped the question, what better way to say "congratulations" than with an amazing surprise engagement party?

Planning the perfect surprise party takes a lot of strategy and if the party is for a newly engaged couple, there are even more details to considered when it comes to impressing the bride & groom-to-be. Here are a few of my favorite tips & decoration ideas for making sure the party goes off without a 'hitch.'

Capture the Entrance

Everyone is going to want to remember the look on the surprised couples faces when they enter the party, so make sure to designate someone as the official entrance photographer. With any luck, the end result will be as adorable as this series featured on the Inspired by This blog. Make sure guests know which way the couple will be making their big entrance from so everyone is ready and waiting!

Set Up a Delicious Dessert Table

Display all of those yummy dessert options on a personalized dessert table. Use photos of the happy couple and add these adorable "she said yes!" printables from blogger The Busy Budget Mama. Cupcake toppers, place cards and treat bag tags will make this table a truly unique party feature.

Personalize the Decor

Make the decorations even more memorable with this DIY balloon chandelier idea from the Wedding Chicks. Simply attach your favorite photos of the couple to card stock and tie to end of each balloon for a fun and creative centerpiece for each table or even as table numbers to help guests find their way. In addition to photos, you could also use menus from the couples favorite restaurants, maps of their favorite vacation destinations or romantic quotes!

Send a Stylish Invitation

Let guests know about the celebration with this beautiful engagement party invitation design by Kellie Medivitz. You can send a traditional print invitation or send online as a digital design, making it easy for everyone. Be sure to let friends and family know it is a surprise so that no one gives it away!

Create Fun Party Poppers

While the happy couple is arriving at the party, give each guest a confetti popper to help welcome them with flair. These Surprise Message Poppers are incredibly adorable, and you can create them yourself with this project from Studio DIY. Match the confetti colors to the party decor or add the couples initials with custom confetti designs from The Confetti Bar.
