Tips for Planning a Bachelorette Getaway

Contrary to popular belief, tough economic times are the perfect times to find amazing deals to bachelorette party spots. Make it the ultimate girls-only getaway with these tips.

First, pick your place.

Hot (in more ways than one) spots like Las Vegas, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Los Angeles are ideal because they tend to allow for obtaining the best travel deals.

Check out our top 5 spots for a weekend bachelorette celebration in the US !

To save even more money (and cut your carbon footprint), if you're anywhere in proximity, drive instead of flying! Road trip, anyone?

Next, find a place to stay.

A hotel room for a few days won't break the bank (especially if you do your research and get a deal), but as an alternative, check out sites like Craiglist or Airbnb to find places to rent directly from owners.

You may even get a better deal depending upon how large your party is and the days you'll be going. Larger groups will get discounted rates and can share fewer rooms. Weekends are always pricier, so if the girls can all go Thursday through Saturday you'll save.

Then, get everyone on the same page with budget.

Speak to all the guests going, sans bride-to-be, and outline costs. Make sure there's a number up front that they can rely on including any dinners you're planning, special gifts or treats for the bride, etc. and have everyone throw into a "kitty".

What that means is everyone throws in a previously agreed-upon amount of money to take care of all group costs (drinks, dinners, etc.) related to the bachelorette party--hand it over to the most responsible member of the group to handle. This way, the bride-to-be doesn't see any haggling over bills!

(By the way, this works in ALL bachelorette party settings, whether your group is staying local or going away).

TIP: Skip dinners out in favor of grabbing pizza or sandwiches in the hotel room. That saves gobs of money, all the better for hitting the town after the meal!

Finally, take a page from our playbook.

Let a big group of guys on their own bachelor party outing buy you never-ending pitchers of sugar-free mojitos. Light and refreshing, they still make the bride-to-be and her ladies in waiting stand out on the beach or at the pool!
