Toilet Paper Roll Binoculars

Have a little explorer in the family? Give him/her just what a real explorer needs...a pair of cool binoculars!

All it takes is two empty toilet paper rolls, glue, paper, ribbon and a hole punch to make this super cute craft for kids age 3 - 5. Put it all together and your little explorer is ready to go on his/her adventure!

Make them for a child's birthday campout party or just because! Make them together at the party, then, send the kids off on a hunt for bugs, rocks and other backyard finds. Make your own binoculars with these easy to follow steps that even your smallest explorer can do!

Two empty toilet paper rolls per set of binoculars
Camouflage-themed scrapbook paper
Glue stick
Hot glue gun
Hole punch
Plastic bugs (optional)

1. Turn scrapbook paper over and measure enough to cover the entire tube. Make cut marks with a pencil.

2. Cut paper out and glue onto paper tube using a glue stick. Repeat with second paper tube.

3. Hot glue the tubes together.

4. Punch one hole on the side of each tube, approximately three inches down from the top.

Cut a length of ribbon long enough so binoculars will hang comfortably from child's neck. Thread ribbon through one hole and knot. Glue to reinforce and repeat with other loose end.

5. For decoration, hot glue a plastic bug or two. Let dry.

The kids can then wear these and use them to hunt for real bugs during the campout party!
