Music Monday: Ultimate Pop Christmas Party Playlist

Ahh, the holidays - the time of peppermint, Home Alone marathons, wow-worthy decorations, and family reunions. If you’re like us, you fill your December days with as many seasonal past times as possible. And yes, that includes blasting “All I want for Christmas Is You” in the car, during dinner, and even while at work.

Whether you’re looking for the ultimate holiday party playlist or just looking to get into the yuletide spirit, turn your speakers up as you browse through our list of favorite pop Christmas tunes.

N*SYNC, 'Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays'

It ain't a pop Christmas without the soulful stylings of Justin and the gang! This energetic tune is sure to get the party pumping and the guests grooving.

Destiny's Child, '8 Days of Christmas'

I’ll take any excuse to dust off my Destiny’s Child CDs and pop them into the player. Eight Days of Christmas doesn’t get nearly enough attention as an awesome holiday song, but it’s fun, upbeat, and festive, so play it loud and play it often!

Wham!, 'Last Christmas'

In between doing the jitterbug, Wham! came out with this must-play holiday ballad. Their version of “Last Christmas” is a classic that really inspires holiday cheer.

Britney Spears, 'My Only Wish (This Year)'

The Princess of Pop deserves an honorable music mention in this roundup with her upbeat holiday hit “My Only Wish (This Year)”.

Christina Aguilera, 'This Year'

Where there's Britney, there's Christina.. shortly trailing after her. While "This Year" didn't get nearly as much attention as other holiday ballads, as soon guests hear the unmistakable vocals of Christina Aguilera, they are sure to be transported into the pop spirit.

Kelly Clarkson, 'Underneath the Tree'

You may have not yet heard this recent holiday release by American Idol Alumni Kelly Clarkson, but you will. Catchy, fun, and lyrics to warm your insides, “Underneath the Tree” is going to be your go-to holiday hit.

Backstreet Boys, 'It's Christmas Time Again'

The nineties may be over, but The Backstreet Boys are still getting down with their bad selves and releasing boy band-worthy beats to appease the preteen in all of us. Their 2012 release of “It’s Christmas Time Again” makes us want to dig up our old slap bracelets and boogie down.

Jessica Simpson, 'My Only Wish'

This finger-snapping song received criticism due to it's similarity to Mariah's holiday hit, but this festive beat is still a great option to keep the pop-party going.

Justin Bieber, 'Mistletoe'

Love him or hate him, Justin Bieber has certainly earned his "Pop Prince" title. This feel-good holiday love ballad is sweet, simple, and a great addition to your holiday party playlist.

Mariah Carey, 'All I want for Christmas is You'

To close out our Pop Christmas Playlist, is undisputedly THE pop Christmas ballad of all time. Vocal powerhouse Mariah Carey blew this tune out of the water back in 1994, and it’s clear the popularity of this holiday song is here to stay.
