Snowflake-shaped frosted sugar cookies like these are a sweet and simple ode to the winter. Baby might not be able to bite into these, but your other birthday party guests will certainly enjoy them!

What would a winter-themed birthday party be without snow? While it may be impossible to incorporate actual snow into your celebration, providing guests with beautiful and delicious snowballs-- white chocolate coconut truffles, such as the ones pictured here--is definitely the next best option.

Every good party needs a punchbowl! And what better way to celebrate your child's Winter Onederland birthday than to make it a snowman punchbowl? To make one, simply draw a snowman's signature button eyes and carrot nose onto a clear bowl, and fill it with a delicious white drink of your choice. We recommend white hot chocolate or child-friendly eggnog!

Every guest will be delighted to see-- and eat-- these fun snowmen cake pops. And best of all, they're not too hard to make, which makes them a great option to use for your 1st birthday party favor!

Want to try something different and unique for your Winter Onederland birthday? Why don't you do what one of our favorite contributors, Gwynn Wasson, did for her own son's pretty famous 1st birthday party and set up a polar bear adoption center right in your own living room? All you need are some white teddy bears (one for each child in attendance, and of course one for your own baby), and a bit of ribbon and paper. This is a great and creative twist on the traditional party favor.

In the spirit of non-traditional party favors, these personal snow making kits, again courtesy of Gwynn, are the perfect way to thank your guests for attending, and allow them to take a piece of the special day with them.

Best of all, while your baby may not remember his or her first birthday party, they can always have this souvenir as a reminder of all the love and thought you put into celebrating their first year.
