Wonderful Winter Save-the-Date Ideas

Congratulations! If you are recently engaged, now comes the fun part: taking engagement pictures and sending save-the-dates to let friends and family know about the big day! If you are looking for some inspirations for a winter-themed shoot, I have rounded up some of my favorites.

Let it Snow!

Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you have to wait to celebrate! With all of that beautiful snow out there, why not feature it in your Save the Date photo? Snow angels, hearts or even simply writing the date of the big day in the snow can all make for romantic elements. A winter activity such as sledding or staging a snowball fight can also help to create a fun, playful atmosphere.

Incorporate Winter Sports

If both you are your significant other are sports fans, use this opportunity to feature a winter sport such as hockey or ice skating. I love how the couples below incorporated a hockey puck into the photo session in order to showcase the engagement ring and date of the upcoming wedding.

'Tis the Season

If you got engaged during the holidays, then don't be afraid to incorporate elements of the season into your save the date photo. Warm up those cold, winter days with colorful lights, candy canes or touches of red and green to help make spirits bright!

Feature Sweet Treats

Being able to enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate is one of my favorite parts of the winter. If you feel the same, then consider including a cup or two in your save the date,  just like this adorable engagement shoot from Stacy Able Photography. I love how they used marshmallows to write the date of the big day!

I've got your love to keep me warm

Sometimes all you need is simply a picture of the happy couple bundled up nice and warm. This winter snow photo shoot featured on Dylan and Sara Photography is a great example of how a stylish blanket can be the perfect prop for that snuggled-up shot.
