Homemade Bloody Mary Mix + DIY Bloody Mary Bar

Everybody loves Blood Marys, especially for brunch! There's no perfect cocktail to kick off a weekend brunch (especially for early tailgating) than a Bloody Mary. But most people have a specific way they enjoy their tomato juice-based cocktail, which is why a DIY Bloody Mary Bar is perfect. With a homemade Bloody Mary mix and some essential toppings and garnishes, you can create a simple, yet delicious bloody bar.

The idea of setting up your own Bloody Mary Bar might sound a little daunting, but it really couldn’t be easier!  The base of any good Bloody Mary is a good mix, which I handmade and included the recipe below.

Of course, you'll want to set out your Bloody Mary mix and some vodka to start. But add some fun garnishes to guests can pour and create their own drinks. Some bloody essentials include celery, lemons, mini pickles and Worcestershire sauce. Some other fun additions could be crispy bacon pieces, Sriracha and even jalapeno-infused tequila for a Bloody Maria.

Set everything out with your mix and vodka, and some toothpicks and have guests go to town!

Ingredients
  • Homemade Bloody Mary Mix:
  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 3 teaspoons celery salt
  • 3 teaspoons sriracha
  • 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons creamy horseradish
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Large pinch of black pepper

  • To Assemble the Bar:
  • A pitcher of Homemade Bloody Mary Mix, (recipe above)
  • A pitcher/large bottle of vodka
  • A bottle of Sriracha
  • A bottle of Worcestershire sauce
  • A small jar of creamy horseradish
  • Celery salt
  • A bunch of celery stalk (preferably with leaves), for garnish
  • Pimento-stuffed olives, for garnish
  • Cornichon pickles, for garnish
  • Chili-covered mango, for garnish
  • A few strips of crispy bacon, to garnish
  • Lemon wedges
  • Toothpicks
Directions

To make the Homemade Bloody Mary mix, pour the tomato juice into a large pitcher. Add the remaining ingredients – celery salt, sriracha, Worcestershire sauce, creamy horseradish, lemon juice, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

If you would like it spicier, add more Sriracha and black pepper. If it is too spicy, decrease the Sriracha by 1 teaspoon. You can also add a little bit more tomato juice to counteract the spiciness.

To assemble the Bloody Mary Bar, place all the Bloody Mary mix ingredients – Sriracha, Worcestershire Sauce, Creamy Horseradish, and Celery Salt – out on a serving table. Place garnishes, such as Pimento-Stuffed Olives, Cornichon Pickles, and Chili-Covered Mango, out with toothpicks so guests can assemble their own garnishes. Also set out celery stalk and lemon wedges to garnish and add to the Bloody Mary. Finish the table off with a pitcher of your Homemade Bloody Mary mix and a pitcher or bottle of Cold Vodka.

Guests can help themselves to making their own Bloody Marys, by either just using the Homemade Bloody Mary Mix and Vodka, or by adding more of the ingredients to better suite their tastes. Don’t forget to set out pretty glasses for the guests to serve the Bloody Marys in, as well as ice because some people prefer their Bloody Marys chilled.

The Homemade Bloody Mary Mix is best enjoyed the day it is made.
