Open-Faced Mini BLT Appetizers

BLTs are classic party pleasers, but they’re also pretty hard to handle while holding a cocktail. So why not offer your 4th of July guests a miniature version of the traditional sandwich?

This simple recipe for bite-sized BLT sliders is sure to please all partygoers, and it’s so easy, you’ll have time to whip up a platter that’s big enough to accommodate everyone reaching for seconds.

The best part is, the components of these BLT minis can be prepared in advance, which means you won’t have to spend precious time in the kitchen once the party starts. All you need to do is assemble the sliders and serve!

Ingredients
  • 1 bag of ready to serve Arugula
  • 1 packet of smoked bacon
  • 2 loaves of garlic bread
  • 6-10 Roma Tomatoes
  • Mozzarella cheese for garnish (optional)
Directions

The night before the party, broil or grill your bacon slices. Allow them to cook through, then crumble to strips to break them into tiny pieces. While your bacon cooks, dice up the tomatoes and store them in an air-tight bowl. Place both the cooked bacon and the tomatoes in the fridge overnight.

An hour before the party starts, preheat your oven to 375F. Prepare 2 loaves of garlic bread, and then lay each slice of garlic bread flat on a baking sheet. Bake slices until they are golden brown (about 15 minutes), then allow to cool.

Once the bread cools, top each slice with Arugula, bacon and tomatoes, adding the optional garnish of shredded Mozzarella cheese on top (just a sprinkle will do). Place on a tray and serve to guests immediately.
