Boozy White Chocolate Covered Cherries

Nothing says romance like sweet finger foods, and these bite sized white chocolate delights are just what Cupid ordered.

The creamy white chocolate and the sweet boozy cherry explode in your mouth, making them irresistible once you get started, so make sure you have plenty on hand to keep you and your Valentine sweet.

If you're planning to let the kiddies enjoy these white chocolate covered cherries, be sure you omit the Amaretto.

This basic chocolate recipe is simple to make, and perfect for those eager to experiment with chocolate making but not sure how to start and have very little time to learn.

  • 1 package of white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 drizzle of honey
  • 1 jar of cocktail cherries
  • 2 ounces of Amaretto

Remove the cherry juice form the jar and add the Amaretto, taking care to coat each cheery – if you fancy a bit more bite, add another ounce to the mix to ensure that you have a strong Amaretto flavor in each bite.

Place the jar in the fridge and allow to set for 1-2 hours.

Once set, remove from the fridge and place each cherry into a heart shaped chocolate mold. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a high simmer and then place a glass-mixing bowl over the pan to create a double boil.

Once the double boil is in place, add the butter, honey and chocolate to the bowl and mix constantly until the blend it is melted.

Pour the melted chocolate over each cherry in the mold, taking care to fill each mold completely with chocolate before placing in the fridge and allowing to set for 3-4 hours before serving.
