Chocolate Chip Cookie Pops

Cookie Pops are not only great for parties, they make super gifts and favors, too. Displayed in fun ways, these cookies-on-a stick are guaranteed to bring a "wow" to your party table. 


Cookie Pops are a thoughtful and yummy homemade gift. Make a few to welcome the new neighbors, or to say "thank you" to someone special.

For cookies that will bake up perfectly and hold up well on the stick, we go with the traditional Nestle Toll House recipe, but make a couple of tweaks.

Omit the chopped nuts from the famous recipe and ignore the standard baking directions. Here's the recipe in case you need it, along with our directions to make cookie pops!

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups (12 ounce package) Nestle Toll House Semi Sweet Chocolate Morsels

cookie treat sticks or Popsicle sticks

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375° F and spray your cookie pan with baking butter spray.

Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. We always sift our dry ingredients for best results. Next, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamy.

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in the flour mixture.

Fold in your chocolate morsels.

Next, spread your batter in the cookie treat pan. (If you don't have this pan, you can drop your dough by 1/8 cup onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment.) Press the cookie treat sticks into the dough.

Bake for 10 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for about 2 minutes in the pan. Run a knife around the edge of the cookie if necessary to loosen the edges.

Cover the pan with a wire rack and flip the pan over. The cookies will release onto the rack for further cooling.

There are lots of clever ways to display your cookie pops.  Tie a colorful ribbon around the stick and "plant" one in a little flower pot. Put a flower pot by each of your guests place settings.  Styrofoam or clear glass marbles will hold the cookie upright.  A long basket full of cookie pops will certainly draw attention to the dessert table. Again, line the basket with styrofoam and poke each of the pops in so they're standing upright. A little bit of paper shreds will cover the styrofoam and make this an amazing (and edible) centerpiece!
