Easy Homemade Cocoa Coffee Float

I recently served these cocoa coffee floats at the half-birthday party, and they were the hit of the party!

The float is a subtle nod to childhood (especially when served at a child’s birthday party), and is the perfect way to cool down when warmer temps are upon us. This dessert is geared toward coffee lovers, but trust me, the non-chocolate lovers won’t be shy about going back for seconds either.

Ingredients
  • Cup of coffee (for a quick cup, I’ve been using Nespresso’s VertoLine machine which brews in under 2 minutes!)
  • 1 scoop Turkish coffee flavored ice cream
  • Small brownie bite or 1/2 of a soft chocolate cookie
  • If desired, a dash of Bailey’s
Directions

Put a small brownie bite or soft chocolate cookie in the bottom of a mug.

Brew one cup of coffee in a separate mug.

Add a scoop of ice cream to the “brownie mug.”
Pour coffee on top of brownie and ice cream to create a float. Add a dash of Bailey's, if desired (which, I highly recommend). Remember, it's always fun to let guests make their own combinations! Set out different ice cream flavors, and let them get creative.

We served McConnell's Fine Ice Cream, and set out flavors such as Turkish Coffee, Eureka Lemon & Marionberries and Olive Oil & Salted Almonds.
