Healthy & Creative Back to School Recipes

We all know how excited kids get when summer hits. Maybe they are off to camp, excited for a family vacation or even just happy to not have to do homework every night. The real question is, how do you get them excited to go back to school? We have a few ideas that will at least make them excited for lunch!

It's easy to be creative while still planning healthy lunches that your kids will enjoy. Here are three of my favorite healthy recipes that my kids love, and I think yours will too!

Peanut-Butter-Burrito

The Peanut Butter Burrito

Sure this may look like an ordinary PB wrap, but calling it a burrito will give kids the idea they are eating something way cooler. I like wraps specifically because they allow me to hide all the healthy stuff my kids wouldn't normally eat like raisin, carrots and ground flax. I put peanut butter, carrots, raisins and apples in my whole wheat wrap and they loved it!

Sandwich-Kabob

Lunch on a Stick

Instead of putting your sandwich between two pieces of bread, try putting it all on a stick. My kids also love "goldfish cupcakes." It's really easy to pour a handful into a cupcake liner and serve this as a special treat. Kids will have so much fun gobbling up their lunch; just be sure to cut off the ends of the skewers so there are no accidents at school!

Super-Star-Lunch

Super Star Lunch

Show your kids you are rooting for them by prepping a super star lunch. All you need are two different sized star shaped cookie cutters and you can go to town! Cut their snacks like blocks of cheese (gold stars) and slices of cucumber or watermelon into stars and use a larger cookie cutter make their sandwich one as well.

You can come up with so many creative lunches if you use your imagination. Share your favorite back to school recipe ideas with us in the comment section below. We'd love to hear them!
