English Summer Pear Cider

Pear cider is a popular English alternative to beer in the summer months - especially among those who are not big beer drinkers to begin with. Bursting with sweet fruit taste and just a hint of beer, pear cider is ideally served chilled and over ice.

In honor of the Olympic games this summer, we'll be sipping this English-inspired cocktail recipe. Our particular version of this sip from across the pond takes the fruity taste of cider and gives it a gold medal finish by pairing it with muddled pear and fresh pear juice.

Make ahead and serve this as a punch or serve it upon request as an individual drink during your summer parties this season.

Ingredients:

1 fresh pear

4 ounces of pear cider

2 ounces of pear nectar

1 lemon

Ice

Directions:

Slice the pear into thin slices and squeeze fresh lemon juice over them to prevent them from browning.

In a tall glass filled with ice, add the pear slices and then pour the pear cider over the ice before topping with pear nectar.

Serve immediately.
