Fresh fruit and frozen deserts are real crowd pleasers, and help with the party planning because they can be made in advance.
Frozen Fruit Kebobs
Frozen fruit is simple and always popular at parties, served on a skewer, they are just as easy to eat, as they are to make.
Thinly slice the lime into wheels, and cube the mango and pineapple into small pieces.
Place the mixture on a skewer and freeze for an hour before serving.
Mini Frozen Orange Yogurt Bowls
These mini frozen yogurt bowls are as popular with the young party guests as they are with the adults. It's a good way to satisfy your sweet tooth at dessert time without worrying about calories.
And as if that weren't, these individual desserts also take such little time to prepare and the work can be done a few days ahead of time.
16 ounces natural plain yogurt (you can substitute with a fruit flavored yogurt
for a sweeter taste)
Halve the lime and orange, and hallow out the fruits until you have an empty shell. Take the orange fruit from the shell and mix with the yogurt. Then, do the same with the lime - mix with the yogurt.
Take the orange and yogurt mixture and fill the orange. Then, wrap the orange with the filling in a clear plastic wrap and place in the freezer. Repeat the process with the lime mixture and hallowed out lime.
*This prep process can be done 3 days before the party, or up to 2 hours before the party.
When ready to serve, remove from the freezer. If you'd like, garnish with a mint leaf and pass around to your guests! On a warm summer night, there's nothing better than a cool, light dessert.
This recipe will serve four.
