Fruit and Vegetable Naturally Flavored Water Recipes

These simple flavored water recipes are infused naturally by fruits, vegetables and herbs – and they taste just as good as they look!

I have finally gotten into a very solid habit of having a bottle of water with me at all times – and I have even gotten my kids on board too! Healthy and refreshing, water is natures way of keeping your skin looking great, keeping your calorie count down, energizing your muscles, and so much more!

The only downside to all of our healthy water drinking is that we found ourselves spending a small fortune on filtered or flavored waters. That got me thinking about ways my family could continue drinking all the water we want, just more economically. The solution? We started making our own! Delicious & inexpensive, these recipes are also a fantastic way to elevate a casual picnic or backyard barbecue into a true showstopper - just serve in clear glass jugs & jars!

Ingredients:

Grapefruit and Basil

4 sprigs basil

1 gallon water

Ice

Spatula or large wooden spoon

Pitcher or water dispenser

Knife

Lemon and Rosemary

3 sprigs rosemary

2 lemons, sliced

Ice

Spatula or large wooden spoon

Pitcher or water dispenser

Knife

Sweet Peppers

2 cups sweet mini peppers (green, red and yellow)

1 gallon water

Ice

Small knife

Pitcher or water dispenser

Directions:

For the grapefruit and basil water, use a spatula or back of large wooden spoon to bruise the basil. Put basil in bottom of pitcher/water dispenser, add water and let steep about 2 hours

Then, cut the grapefruit into thick slices and discard the end pieces. Add grapefruit and ice to pitcher/water dispenser; chill another 2 hours before serving; add more ice as needed.

For the lemon and rosemary water, use a spatula or back of large wooden spoon to bruise the rosemary. Put rosemary in bottom of pitcher/water dispenser, add water and let steep about 2 hours. Cut lemon and discard the end pieces. Add lemon and ice to pitcher/water dispenser; chill another 2 hours before serving; add more ice as needed

For the sweet pepper water, halve mini peppers and remove seeds. Put peppers in the bottom of pitcher/water dispenser. Add water and ice; chill for 4 hours before serving; add more ice as needed.
