How To Make A Teepee Snack

For a summertime lunch that will satisfy hungry tummies here's a fun teepee party themed recipe. This is a kid friendly food recipe that children absolutely love and will enjoy your child's birthday party.

All the crafting the kids did worked up quite the appetite for this fun food idea! And what a treat to see little faces light up and they see their snack has been shaped into a tent and campsite!

  • Tortillas or Flat (Pita) Bread
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Edamame
  • Shredded Carrots
  • Sliced Cheese and Lunch Meat
  • Hummus
  • Broccoli
  • Toothpicks

Create a bed of shredded lettuce on your plate or serving dish

Add a dolup of hummus toward the front edge of your plate and circle it with shredded carrots

Plant your broccoli tree in the hummus

Add a rectangular "blanket" of sliced cheese and/or lunch meat of your choice (this will be the bottom of your tent)

Take one piece of your tortilla or pita bread wrap it with a damp paper or cloth towel and microwave it until it is pliable. (About 10 second.) Do not heat it for too long or it will dry out instead of dampen

Cut about 3 inches off the bottom of your bread so that your circle now has a flat bottom edge

Shape into a teepee (it is important to do this while the bread is still warm) and secure with a toothpick and place on top your cheese blanket

Enclose your campsite with a ring of edamame, celery or carrot sticks
