Individual Pita Pizza Recipe

I love to cook pizza at any and every dinner party I throw. It’s just such an all-around crowd pleaser - with pizza, you really can’t go wrong! And today more than ever, it’s easier to make your own pizza at home because so many grocery stores carry pizza dough, even if it’s just that Pillsbury Pizza Dough in the refrigerator section.
To make homemade pizza at home even easier here, I used store-bought pita bread as the crust. All you have to do is top the pita bread with tomato sauce (homemade or store-bought), shredded mozzarella cheese, and your favorite pizza toppings, and you can have homemade pizza on your dining table within 30 minutes!
To make these pitas even more unique, put out the pitas, cheese, and pizza toppings, and then allow your guests to make their pizzas exactly to their liking. After that, all you have to do is bake them right before dinnertime.
- 6 Pitas
- Tomato sauce or pizza sauce (whichever you prefer)
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Toppings, such as pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, onions, etc.
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper, and place 3 pitas on each baking sheet. If your pitas are too large, use another baking sheet and put 2 pitas on each sheet.
According to your liking, place the desired amount of sauce on top of each pita (leaving a little edge at the ends). Sprinkle cheese on top of the sauce and then top with your toppings of choice - I used the basic pepperoni. Finish with a dash of salt and pepper.
Place the pitas in the oven and bake until the edges are crispy and the cheese is bubbly, about 15-20 minutes. Allow the pitas to cool for a couple minutes and then serve.
Note: These can be assembled ahead of time and cooked right before serving.
