Kid-Friendly Tea Party Bites

Tea parties are a lovely way to celebrate any little girl's birthday. What makes the party even special is preparing delicious treats for guests to snack on.

The menu below is kid-friendly, but looks dainty and whimsical due to the fun shapes and light ingredients. This menu is perfect for party guests to snack on at your tea party and celebrate the birthday girl's special day.

Mini Croissants

Children love Mini-Croissants served with plenty of butter and jam—it gives them the grown up feel of an afternoon tea in a child size portion.

Dainty Cucumber Finger Sandwiches

These light sandwiches make a great tea time snack, and when cut into fun shapes, they won’t last long. We used large heart cookie cutters for ours.

Ingredients
  • White Bread
  • Cucumber
  • Butter
Directions

Thinly slice cucumber and place on to buttered white bread to make a sandwich.

Once the sandwich is formed, use cookie cutters to cut into fun shapes. If you do not have cookie cutters, remove the crust and cut into triangles.

Fairy Cupcakes

These fairy cakes bring the garden fairies to life at your tea party. Take basic white cupakes and embellish with lemon cookies and cherries for an eye popping dessert that won't take forever to bake!

Ingredients
  • 24 white cupcakes
  • 1lb of butter cream white frosting
  • 24 Iced Lemon Round Cookies (substitute with any round cookie)
  • 24 Maraschino Cherries
Directions

Frost the cupcakes with butter cream frosting.

Cut the round cookie in half, and halve the cherries. Place the cherry in the center of the cupcake, and then place a cookie half on each side of the cherry to create a fairy shape.

Fresh Fruit with Clotted Cream

Fresh fruit with clotted cream is a quintessentially English Afternoon Tea delight. The fruity taste compliments the tea, jam and finger sandwiches beautifully. You can use whatever fruit you'd like, but we're sure the all the girls will enjoy strawberries.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups of fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup of clotted cream (substitute with whipped cream for a sweeter taste)
Directions

Wash and trim the strawberries. Spoon a tablespoon of cream into each serving dish then top with the fresh strawberries.
