Pineapple-Strawberry Salsa on Cream Cheese-Covered Corn Chips

Some like it hot, but others like it sweet — salsa, that is. And this delicious Pineapple-Strawberry Salsa is definitely a sweet option for a fresh summertime dip. 

Tropical fruits and summer berries are refreshing on any given day, but in a salsa mixed with a bit of cream cheese and the crunch of a chip—it’s divine. The sweet tastes of the strawberry and pineapple are balanced nicely with the fresh chopped basil and balsamic vinegar.

I spread the salsa on top of sweet potato corn chips that were covered in cream cheese, which made an all-around satisfying app. Bonus: The chips are gluten-free, so your gluten-free friends can dig in!

For easier serving, you can just leave the salsa by itself in a bowl next to a big bowl of chips and a side of cream cheese to spread.  



Serve my Pineapple-Strawberry Salsa with a delicious Whoa Mama! cocktail. Not only do the tastes of strawberry and pineapple complement each other nicely in the cocktail and app, but the colors look pretty, too!




  • 1 cup finely diced strawberries
  • 1 cup finely diced pineapple
  • 1 tablespoon chopped basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 4 oz whipped cream cheese
  • Sweet potato corn chips (one bag)

Mix strawberries, pineapple, basil, salt , balsamic vinegar, honey and lime juice in a bowl until thoroughly combined.

Spread one teaspoon of cream cheese on each chip and top with tablespoon of salsa and serve.

Makes: 32 chips
