Simple Syrup Recipe

Get ready for the most ‘simple’ recipe to get you on your way to a fully prepped bar for entertaining guests!

When it comes to being an entertaining ‘pro,’ every good host knows are a few key items to have on hand when you want to have a ‘stocked bar.’ Today I’d love to share with you my recipe for Simple Syrup - a mixture of sugar and water that you’ll use in countless classic cocktails – from Mojitos to Rum Punches, to Old Fashioneds and Margaritas. It’s also a great way to sweeten iced coffee without having granules of sugar at the bottom of your cup.

Simple syrup is just 1 part white sugar and 1 part water. The directions are below.

1 cup white sugar

1 cup water

In a medium saucepan combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool. Store in the refrigerator.

Tip: If you are only using this for alcoholic beverages and not kids’ drinks or coffee, pour in about 1 Tbs of vodka to keep from spoiling.

1 and 1/3 cups
