Spooky Spider Lollipops

What I love most about this Spider Lollipop is not just how festive it is, but how simple it is to make. Made with melting chocolate, and candy eyes, it is so simple and quick to make that you can include this in your party activities.

I gave my lollipops a spider makeover, but you can opt for any color of chocolate, and add any number of decorative elements to give it a personality. To create the spider look, I used black melting chocolate, and black pipe cleaners.

Once the chocolate had molded and cooled, I wrapped the chocolate lolly in plastic wrap, twisted the extra wrap around the stick and then cut 4 pieces of black pipe cleaner that I twisted to create the 8 legs of the spider. While this is a simple project, it is not an inexpensive one. To buy everything I needed to make this project cost me $20 for 20 lollipops. If cost in an option, a less expensive route would be to buy packaged lollypops and give them pipe cleaner legs.

Ingredients
  • 1 package of chocolate melting discs (Black)
  • 1 package of candy eyes
  • 1 package of lollipop sticks
  • 20 squares of plastic wrap
  • 1 lollipop mold
  • 1 package of pipe cleaners
Directions

Follow the melting directions on the package of the chocolate; I opted for the double boiler method because it offers a smoother finish to the chocolate.

Once the chocolate is melted, pour it into your molds and then place a lollipop stick into each one.

Wait 5 minutes before adding the eyes, then leave to set for an hour before wrapping in plastic wrap and attaching the spider legs.

Store in the fridge or at room temperature before serving.
