Sunny Mary Cocktail Recipe

This season take the bloody out of your Bloody Mary and replace it with a touch of sunshine to add an extra boost of color to any brunch table. By switching out traditional ripe red tomatoes for yellow ones this midday cocktail beams with the brightness and warmth of springtime.

Don’t be fooled by this merry Mary’s golden glow, it still packs the brunch time punch of its crimson kin with spicy Tabasco and savory Worcestershire sauce that makes this meal-in-a-glass so irresistible. Follow these simple directions for your bright and delicious Sunny Mary cocktail!

4-5 medium yellow tomatoes, pureed

6 ounces quality vodka

5 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 teaspoon grated horseradish

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

3-4 celery stalks, for garnish

6-8 Spanish olives, for garnish

In a pitcher or carafe, combine all the ingredients: the yellow tomatoes, vodka, lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, sea salt, and ground pepper.

Begin stirring it with a wooden spoon until the spices are evenly dispersed. If you are planning on making this cocktail ahead of time, cover the container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

Make sure to stir again before serving as ingredients have a tendency to separate.

To serve, pour mixture into mason jars or tumblers filled with ice. Garnish with celery stalks and olives and now your Sunny Mary cocktail is ready to be served to your guests!
