Mezcal Watermelon Margaritas

Dare to try this margarita recipe - it's a sweet and sour version we've fallen for and will be making much more often!

While it's traditional to use tequila when concocting a margarita, we're substituting it with it's smokier, tangier sister mezcal here. Because mezcal is a deeper, more heated flavor compared to tequila you'll want to make sure you counterbalance it's potency with a bit of extra sweet.


1 ripe Watermelon, and cut into one inch cubes

A Few Fresh Mint Leaves

6 ounces Freshy Squeezed Lime Juice

12 ounces Mezcal

6 ounces Marnier or Cointreau


Arrange the watermelon cubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze.

In a blender combine the frozen watermelon cubes with the fresh mint leaves, lime juice, Mezcal and Gran Marnier.

Dont add ice - this will dilute the cocktail. Blend until smooth. Pour into chilled martini glasses and garnish with a wedge of watermelon.
