Cook Up a Delicious Fiesta: Cinco de Mayo Menu Ideas

Cinco de Mayo calls for enjoying all of your favorite Mexican (and Americanized Mexican) meals. Some of the classic options are tacos, fajitas and of course, margaritas.

Although going out to dinner is always a fun way to celebrate Cinco, why not have some people over and make some of your favorite Mexican food yourself?

Set the scene with some festive decor, including pinatas, and make sure you have enough libations to keep everyone happy. We love the idea of setting up a Margarita Bar, so people can pick and choose their own poison. Or keep it easier with one signature recipe, like this Spicy Grapefruit Jalapeno Margarita.

Chips and salsa are also a Cinco party staple, but serve a sweet salsa for a unique chance of pace. Try this Mango Salsa Recipe, which looks as good as it tastes!

For the main courses, stick to tacos and fajitas. This Oven-Baked Chicken Fajitas recipe is a healthier and lighter option to the standard greasy fajitas. And to keep things simple, make some mini treats, such as Mini Chicken Tacos and Mini Chicken Taquitos.

And don't forget about dessert. Churros are a Mexican food staple, and these Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies are sweet and spicy.

Now throw on your sombrero and get ready to celebrate Cinco in style!
