Kid-Friendly Father's Day Ideas

One of the best parts about Father's Day is getting the kids involved in the celebrations. A personalized, handmade gift is something he will cherish forever, especially if he knows the little ones were involved in the process.

This Father's Day, get your kids involved in creating some fun homemade gifts and a surprise treat he will love on Father's Day morning. It doesn't take much to personalize a fun gift; with some simple craft supplies and creativity, you will have a fun Father's Day craft that will keep the kids busy — and dad will love!

The way to dad's heart is through his stomach, which is why I love these hands-on snack gift ideas. A fun and easy craft for the dad in your life is to create these snack "staches," filled with all of dad's favorite treats. With some creative stickers and labels, you have a fun and simple gift. Another vessel to decorate is a giant popcorn tin, like this one from The Popcorn Factory. I had it customized with a family photo, and wrote sweet messages to by husband around the tin. Tie it up with a bow, and it's good to go!

If Dad can't take on the day without his morning cup of coffee, make sure he sips it from something handmade. A simple white ceramic mug becomes a blank canvas, perfect for multicolored Sharpie markers. After the kids draw to their hearts' desire, place the mugs in the oven to seal in the new designs.

Finally, the kids can help with Father's Day brunch, too! A tasty recipe the whole family will love is this Sweet Potato Bacon Dippers recipe. Your kids can help with the mixing, and of course will love to help with eating!
