Smartie Themed Graduation Party

Throw a candy themed graduation party for your smartie! These oh-so-sweet ideas are sure to wow and satisfy that sweet tooth.

Ever since my sister Lauren was a kid she’s loved candy – and I mean LOVED. This past May, Lauren graduated college and though she insisted we needn’t have a big to-do to over such an accomplishment, I insisted we did. I decided to throw her a “Smartie” Party – appropriate not only because of the name, but because Smarties are one of Lauren’s favorite candies.

To keep both of us happy, I kept the graduation party casual, in the backyard just close family and friends – and lots and lots of sweet treats. Cotton Candy Cupcakes, homemade rainbow chip brownies and a candy selection of Lauren’s faves were the big highlights of our dessert bar.

In the end, the smaller gathering Lauren insisted on worked out super well – not only was it great to spend quality time with all our VIP guests, it made planning easier, cheaper and way more fun because I got to make 90% of our decorations.

You’d be amazed what you can do with a few paper supplies, ribbon and Glue Dots® Adhesives. Take a peek below at all the fantastic graduation decorations I put together using a bit of creativity and some craft store supplies. If I can create this look while working a full day, planning a wedding and getting packed for a big move, you sure can!
