Spring Inspired Family Brunch

I absolutely love the decorating opportunities that accompany Easter and the spring season. Perhaps it’s the mix of good weather, use of color after those long winter months and the sweetness of the holiday in general.

This year I decided to go bold with my spring inspired family brunch rather than pastel and I’m so happy I did.

The dreariness of the Midwest winter had me screaming for brightness, so I pulled out the bright yellows, pinks, blues and oranges and created an outdoor brunch that’s extremely simple, yet festive and budget-friendly! I hope this will give you a few ideas for brunch preparation all season long!

To cover the 6’ table I used a plain white tablecloth. For added color, I used a handmade seersucker table runner down the center.

For the centerpiece I took some yellow unopened tulips and fanned them out of my Arthur Court Silver Grapes Pitcher. I love a burst of silver or gold on a table. So elegant!

For the place settings, I used a bright yellow woven round placemat and used that as the base. I then used a “Bristol tile”-style melamine salad plate/dinner plate set on top of it.

In the center of the plate I set the napkin/napkin ring with egg place card and yellow knockout rose inside as well as a small bowl filled with cut-up pineapple.

I set my silverware to standard and used a small, colorful drinking glass and yellow striped straw on one side and a large, stemmed wine glass with strawberry kiwi champagne on the other.

Finally, I placed a mini cupcake wrapped in seersucker fabric above each plate for some added sweetness! Simple, yet sweet and welcoming!
