St. Patrick's Day: Go Beyond the Green & Embrace the Gold

Leprechauns, shamrocks and the luck of the Irish -- when people think of St. Patrick's Day, it usually conjures up images of all things green.

But why not embrace the gorgeous gold side of the lucky holiday? It's all about finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, after all. And gold lends itself to some creative and trendy decor, cocktails and even some snack recipes.

To add a pop of gold to your St. Patrick's Day decor, all you need is some spray paint and glitter. You can spray paint some upcycled vases for an elegant centerpiece, or side table decor. Check out our DIY Gold Vases: Three Versions for the tutorial. With some gold spray paint and glitter, you can easily make our DIY Glitzy Gold Candlesticks. Use Mod Podge to secure the glitter, and in no time you'll have some fancy upcycled candlesticks.

Luckily, mixing up a gold cocktail is much easier and tastier than a green one (plus, no unnecessary food dyes). Our Pot of Gold Cocktail is made with whiskey, ginger ale, a fresh orange slice and topped with gold glitter sugar. For a lighter, fruitier drink, try our Glamorous Gold Sparkler. Made with dry sparkling wine, champagne and Elderflower Cordial, this drink is crisp, refreshing and naturally gold in color.

And make sure your party guests don't leave empty handed. Whip up a batch of our Edible Pop of Gold party favor. The yummy snack is made with caramel corn covered in white chocolate and drizzled with gold glitter sugar.

With gold being really in style right now, add some glitz and glam to your St. Patrick's Day party with our gold party ideas. Do you think gold party decor better, or green for St. Pat's? Let us know in the comments below!
