Bright & Cheerful Summer Poppy Birthday Party

My friend Sarah is kind of a shy gal, but a really good friend I love to get together with. Being sort of reserved, when it comes to celebrating her birthday, she doesn't want a lot of fanfare. But if you're my friend and I'm celebrating your day, you can expect at least a few bells and whistles!

For a Sarah's summertime birthday, I picked out a bright and cheerful palette with bright red, yellow and teal. We held a small gathering of just a few friends, so a small table was set for our dinner al fresco, but these ideas are all easy enough to scale if you want to set up for a bigger affair. Just add more flowers, more place settings, and a longer runner!

My favorite part of the whole table is the Paper Poppies I made for the centerpiece. These everlasting blooms are not only a beautiful piece for your table, but they also make a nice gift to send home with the birthday girl.

Each place setting has a hand-decorated plate to match the fun and bright party theme. Inexpensive red cutlery ands bright yellow paper napkins rounded out the setting.

Each guest received a party favor that was left on their plate. The paper poppies were made in a much smaller size to top bright yellow boxes. They make the perfect package garnish in addition to filling out a beautiful bouquet! Fill your boxes with candy, or darling little trinkets to make some happy guests.

For appetizers, I picked a summery light appetizer with a special- made Pineapple Strawberry Salsa served on tope of cream cheesed chips. Keep these on gluten-free corn chips to make sure everyone can enjoy them!  Tropical-tasting Pineapple and Coconut Cocktails make sitting, sipping and celebrating all the more the pleasure able!
