Early Kickoff: Throw a Tailgating Brunch

The start of football means the official start of tailgating season. It doesn't matter what time kickoff is; as every true fan will be ready to tailgate as early as possible. When the tailgate starts early in the morning, it's the perfect excuse to put a brunch spin on your favorite pre-football snacks and drinks.

Combining brunch and tailgating is much easier than it sounds. Instead of straight beer and cocktails, serve up some mimosas, screw drivers and of course, Bloody Marys. Make the Bloody Mary experience more fun by creating a DIY Bloody Mary Bar, like our contributor Krissy Winnick did. With some good homemade Mary mix, vodka and fun garnishes, guests will have a blast putting together their own tomato juice cocktail. To switch up the traditional mimosa, make this Sparkling Mimosa Punch for easy serving.

Everyone loves burger sliders for a tailgate, but give it a breakfast sandwich makeover with these Kielbasa Breakfast Sliders. Made with egg, sausage and cheese, these sliders are the perfect heart bites for tailgating.

And as much as everyone loves buffalo chicken wings (or buffalo chicken dip) for football games, this Southwest Buffalo Chicken Frittata gives the classic appetizer a breakfast spin that will leave all of your guests begging for more. Another fun breakfast spin is this Spicy Bacon, Egg & Cheese Dip. It's the perfect dip for the morning, and tastes like an entire breakfast platter all scooped onto one tortilla chip.

Finally, for a light and healthy option, don't forget the fruit salad. We have a whole gallery full of fresh fruit salad ideas that will add some fun color and taste to your morning tailgate.

So even if kickoff is before noon, you can still enjoy a delicious tailgate and get ready to cheer on your favorite team!
