Bring Back the Thanksgiving Centerpiece: Three Fun Floral Ideas

No matter the occasion, your tabletop décor will be front and center of any discussion once your guests are seated. The holidays bring people together and your centerpiece arrangement can help set the mood, creating the perfect environment for good cheer.

Like you, I have nostalgic childhood memories of eating, drinking and being merry around a perfectly set table; the floral arrangement was considered with care, either ordered specially or created from scratch, stepping up the look of the table. To me, the centerpiece is just part of being a good host.

Today’s busy lifestyles require a more casual approach, and I welcome the fact that a formal table is no longer the expectation. However, one standard has suffered: the centerpiece. I still think you should make some effort beyond the everyday, and I strongly believe in the lasting allure and fragrant delight that only fresh, seasonal flowers bring.

That’s why I’m teaming up with 1-800-FLOWERS.COM in their movement to Bring Back the Centerpiece! I’m encouraging everyone to join us, because it’s so easy when you combine their great resources with some of my own sMARt tips.

Here are a few great ideas that are both beautiful and easy:

Centerpiece & Candles

Working with a smaller table or need room for dishes? Maximize space by combining your centerpiece with candles, integrating them within for that one-two punch.

Smaller Arrangements

A set of smaller arrangements provides moveable versatility on a full Thanksgiving table. Plus, they’re the perfect party favor for guests to take home and enjoy at the end of the meal. Who wouldn’t love that?

Turn a Pumpkin into a Centerpiece

A new way to use autumn décor? Turn any pumpkin into a talked-about arrangement by nestling your flowers right inside; simply pop the vase right in. When you invite Mother Nature to your table, you don’t even have to set an extra place setting for her!
