DIY Gourd Candle Holder

We can’t think of a more festive way to set your table this autumn season than with gorgeous gourd candle holders. This DIY project is simple and quick to do, so if you fancy making an entire arrangement with these creative candles, there is nothing holding you back!

A bounty of these elegant gourd candle holders would make a stunning dinner table centerpiece.

The best part of this craft project is that it incorporates the outdoor beauty of the fall season in a way you can enjoy indoors.

  • Various sizes of gourds
  • A serrated knife
  • Spoon
  • Tea light candles

Step 1: If your gourd cannot stand up on its own, feel free to cut a horizontal surface onto the edge of the gourd for the bottom side, as shown. Do the same horizontal cut for the top of the gourd.

Step 2: Then, cut a circle around the stem of the gourd. Try to match just slightly under the diameter of the candle you will be using. This way, you can wedge the candle in securely.

Step 3: Scoop out some seeds and wedge the candle in.

Please note if you cut your gourd candle so that it will stand upright, the exposed surface require a plate underneath to protect your wood surfaces.
