Creative Back-to-School Lunches

Back to school season means the carefree days of summer are now behind us! It’s time to stock up on school supplies and organize those busy schedules. If you’re in a time crunch but still want to serve up an innovative lunch-we have created 2 adorable takes on the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich

Apple (with worm!) PB&J:

This apple peanut butter and jelly sandwich will surely be the talk of the lunch room! Not only does it look super cute, but it's really easy to make. Plus, your kids get an extra special treat with the gummy worm!

Ingredients
  • 2 pieces of bread
  • Peanut butter
  • Jelly
  • Gummy worm
  • Celery leaf

Supplies
  • Circle shape cookie cutter (or circle rim of a glass)
  • Knife
Directions

Make your peanut butter and jelly sandwich as you normally would, between 2 pieces of bread. Cut off the crusts.

Use your circle cookie cutter (or the rim of a large glass) and press down on the bread to create a circle shape for the sandwich.

With your knife, poke a hole in the upper left corner of your sandwich. Place your gummy worm in the hole.

At the top of the circle, stick a celery leaf between the two slices of bread to create the leaf of your apple. Serve with sides of your choice.

PB&J Lunch Burrito:

Ingredients
  • Flour tortilla (or wrap of choice)
  • Peanut butter
  • Jelly
  • Rice Krispies (optional)
  • Banana

Directions

Spread out your peanut butter and jelly on your wrap. If you wish- sprinkle rice crispy treats on top of your peanut butter and jelly. This creates an awesome crunch!

Peel and place your banana on one side of the wrap. Wrap the banana tightly in the tortilla. You now have a delicious peanut butter and jelly burrito!
