Funniest Commercial from Super Bowl 2014? Radio Shack's #InWiththeNew

No one has ever accused Radio Shack of being too 'hip' or 'trendy,' even after that whole remarketing campaign they did where they wanted to call themselves simply 'The Shack,' (not shockingly, that didn't last long).

But during the 2014 Super Bowl, they weren't afraid to poke fun at themselves with their ad titled #inwiththenew.

A healthy dose of self awareness is always entertaining, and Radio Shack poked fun at their outdated image.

"The '80s called," a young store clerk says in the beginning of their commercial, which debuted during the Super Bowl on Feb. 2. "They want their store back."

The shop then gets flooded with characters and images from the '80s, including Alice Cooper, the California Raisins, Alf and the terrifying Chuckie doll. As all of the has-beens attack the store, they carry out some old-school electronics, including a wood-paneled clock radio and a VCR.

We're not sure if Radio Shack's hipness will ever match that of, say, Apple, but we give them props for trying. Maybe this will usher in a new hip store filled with modern electronics. But even if it doesn't, we still love how they weren't afraid to make a joke at their own expense.

If only more high-profile brands could follow suit (we're looking at you, Justin Bieber).

Watch the ad for yourself. Do you think this was the funniest ad during the Super Bowl?
