Spicy Mango Margarita Recipe

National Margarita Day (February 22nd) is almost upon us. It's one of my favorite little holidays that pop up throughout the year, kind of like National Cupcake Day, that I always make sure I celebrate. I mean, what's not to love about a margarita? It's sweet, salty and always makes for a good pick me up. Tequila is actually the only alcohol that peps you up for your night!

This year, I've got a special recipe for you that will really knock your socks off. I like to describe it as a sweet cocktail that will really kick you in the pants when you're not looking. It's a spicy mango margarita that you can easily whip up in your blender. Once you watch my video, you'll know I had a little too much fun making this bad boy.

It's a spicy and sweet version of your typical mango margarita, obviously frozen, but with a special ingredient to really give it a good kick. What is it you ask? It's my jalapeno simple syrup. It is perfect for any spicy cocktail, but even more perfect in your mango margarita. If you are sharing with your girl friends, they will really appreciate it.

Remember it is February so leave out the ice and just stick to frozen mango from your grocery's freezer. Adding more ice will just water down your cocktail, and no one wants that!

Check out the ingredients and directions below or watch my video tutorial above for the for the all the fun instructions on how to make your very own spicy mango margarita.

10 oz of cubed, frozen mango

2 shots of silver tequila (I used Patron Silver)

2 shots of Triple Sec

The juice of a whole fresh lime

1 shot of jalapeno simple syrup

In a blender, add your frozen mango, tequila, Triple Sec, lime juice and simple syrup.

*To make the simple syrup, boil one part water and one part sugar together in a sauce pan with half of a jalapeno.

Next blend your mixture together.

To prep your margarita glass, line your rim with salt, chili powder and lime zest for an extra kick.

Pour your mango margarita in the glass and enjoy!
