Spiked Apple Cider Recipe


There aren’t many things better in this world than a mug of warm apple cider in your hands on a crisp fall afternoon. Try out our simple recipe for spiked apple cider today – it’s quick to make and delicious to enjoy. We also love that it leaves your whole house scented with the lingering smell of autumnal spices!


For your next fall gathering, make a big batch of cider and spike with some delicious dark rum. This cider embodies the succulent fruit of the season, and packs a bold, spicy flavor that's perfect for fall.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup dark rum
  • 1 apple
  • 2 teaspoons whole cloves
  • 1 orange peel
  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • Pinch grated nutmeg
  • Cinnamon sticks, garnish

Directions

Stud the apple with the cloves. In a medium pot, combine the studded apple and remaining ingredients, except the rum. Slowly bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Spiked Apple Cider Cocktail Kissters

Remove from the heat and add the rum. Discard the apple and orange peel. Ladle into mugs and garnish each with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately, or chilled with ice for a cooler treat!

Makes about 8 servings.
