Spiked Pumpkin Spice Latte

If the first warm day marks the start of spring, and the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree rings in the start of the holiday season, then the introduction of Pumpkin Spice Lattes back into coffee shops has GOT to be the best indicator for the start of fall!

The only way to possibly improve upon this tasty drink is to spike it, of course! Delicious smooth bourbon does the trick in our recipe for spiked pumpkin spice lattes.



  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup brewed strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoons canned pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or equivalent in sugar substitute
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 ounces Bourbon
  • Dollop of whipped cream (optional)

In a saucepan over low heat, whisk milk, pumpkin, sugar, vanilla and spices together until you see steam.

After your mixture is steaming and ingredients are combined, pour into 2 coffee mugs.

Pour in coffee, followed by 1 and 1/2 ounces (1 shot) of bourbon in each. If you’d like, top with whipped cream.

Makes: 2 cups
