How One Surfing Dog Made a Dying Teen's Dream Come True

Ricochet is a gorgeous golden retriever who can surf. But catching some waves isn't her only skill; this loyal canine also has the power to brighten anyone's day, and make dreams come true. Especially a teenager with terminal brain cancer.

When Caleb Acosta, 15, was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer, he was granted his lifelong wish from the Make a Wish Foundation -- to ride some waves with a surfing dog he saw on ESPN.

Make a Wish made it happen, and flew Caleb from his home in Apopka, Florida to San Diego, Calif. to hit the beach with the famous surfing dog named Ricochet. The pair spent the afternoon soaking up the sand and the surf, and even rode on the same long board.

"I just felt almost normal, finally," Caleb said. "It felt really good to be free, not worrying about anything, having someone to keep my balance."

Ricochet also " surfs with kids with special needs, people with disabilities, wounded warriors, military families and veterans with PTSD," according to her website.

What an amazing day! We're celebrating Caleb for finding the strength to have fun and stay positive during his illness, and Ricochet for providing a sense of calmness and normalcy to those in need. #MakeToday inspirational!
