What better place to party during the summer than under the sea? Whether you’re throwing an ocean-themed party this summer, or just looking for a fun craft with the kids, these colorful and adorable sea creatures are the perfect project for you and your little ones!

With just some paint, craft supplies and paper dishes and plates (that you probably already have in your pantry), you can create some fun sea-inspired fish crafts to hang in your kitchen all summer long.

Paper Plate Fish

Step 1: Lay down your newspaper to protect your surfaces from any paint spills. Paint your paper plates (the fish bodies) the colors of your choice. Feel free to have fun combining colors and making patterns!

Step 2: On an additional paper plate, create the fish fins and tails by cutting triangular shapes from the paper plate. Paint these the colors of your choice. Let all the paint dry. It will take acrylic paint about 30 minutes to fully dry.

Step 3: Attach the fins of the fish to the back of the paper plate body with tape. Enjoy your adorable and colorful fish!

Paper Bowl Jellyfish

  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Shallow paper bowls
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Newspaper
  • Yarn or Ribbon
  • Paper cup and water (to clean paint brushes)

Step 1: Lay down your newspaper to protect your surfaces from any paint spills. Paint your paper bowls (the jellyfish bodies) of the colors of your choice. We think neon colors are a great option for jellyfish! If you are looking to hang up your jelly fish we suggest also painting the inside of the bowl a fun and funky color.

Step 2: Let all the paint dry. It will take acrylic paint about 30 minutes to fully dry.

Step 3: Cut your ribbon or yarn into varying lengths (around 6 to 12 inches). These will make the jellyfish tentacles.Tape the ribbon into the inside of the bowl. Voila, your jellyfish are ready to party!
