Christmas Decorations

Christmas decorations extend well beyond the Christmas tree. Christmas is an occasion to decorate the entire home " outdoors, indoors, window decor, lighting displays, mantle garlands, Christmas stockings, beautiful door wreaths " the list never ends! Our experts have tips and ideas to help you and your family spread Christmas cheer throughout your home.

White Christmas Party Decor

Handmade snowflake curtains and snowflake ornaments embedded in faux snow on the buffet table are just a few decor ideas to give this party a cool holiday look.

Snowflake Curtain

The snowflake curtain pictured was created by craft blogger Laura Howard. I just love the simplicity of the curtains and the fact Laura turned a classic holiday kid craft into a fabulous decor idea.

Laura explains, "I've always loved making paper snowflakes to stick on the inside of our windows at Christmas but our current flat has such old single-glazed windows that we get terrible condensation, making paper snowflakes a no-go. A snowflake curtain seemed the obvious solution."

To make the snowflake curtains (adapted from Laura's instructions):

  • Create varied size circles of white paper; cut out using an assortment of plates, saucers and cups as templates.
  • Fold circles in half, then fold that in half to quarter the circle making a triangle shape, and then fold that in half to make a more narrow triangle.
  • Cut into the edges of the folded triangle, snipping away to make the cutout designs in the snowflake, but being careful not to cut it completely in half.
  • FYI: You can find lots of paper snowflake tutorials on the Internet if you've not made them before.
  • Sew snowflakes together into strands using an ordinary sewing needle and thread. Sew several stitches per snowflake linking them together the their tops and bottoms.
  • Vary the sizes of snowflakes you use to get a "random" look and Laura recommends hanging up each strand before starting the next one so you can see how they look and build up your display gradually.
  • Hang the snowflake strands using tape, tacks, or whatever works for you from a curtain rod or the top of the window moulding. Place them close enough together to create a curtain.
  • You can also use the snowflake strands to adorn archways and doorways throughout the party space.

White Christmas Trees

  • Flock small Christmas trees with a spray-on snow to make them white.
  • Decorate outdoors with the white Christmas trees up a walkway or by the front door.
  • Dress up the party indoors with smaller flocked trees on side tables, mantles, and similar surfaces.
  • Give your official Christmas tree the look of fresh fallen snow as well!

Snowy White Tabletop

  • Use a white floor-length cloth on your party table. Place risers, such as book stacks or upside down pots, under the cloth to elevate plates of food, guest plates, and other tabletop elements.
  • Create a layer of faux snow on the tabletop keeping the flakes a few inches from the perimeter of the table so it doesn't fall on to the floor. I like Snow in Seconds as it looks like real snow and is non-toxic.
  • Embed snowflake ornaments in the snow on the table.
  • Put food on glass plates and platters to keep the look clean.
  • Roll silverware in white napkins and place it vertically in a glass cube vase.
  • Finish it off with white votive candles in glass holders and a beautiful winter flower display like 1-800-Flower.com's Martha Stewart Wishing Star Bouquet.

Living Holiday Decor How-To Video

In this video, I show you how to breath life into your holiday decor.

Living Holiday Decor from Mark Addison Media on Vimeo.

Living Wreaths

Classic holiday wreaths are made using cut foliage without a water source and can last for several weeks, but ultimately dry up and drop. Holiday wreaths made from living plants and materials will last for months and can be repurposed after the holidays. However, your wreath will need a bit of watering and maintenance to stay fresh! Add miniature orchids, succulents or small herb plants into the moss to add color, texture and visual interest.

Start with a floral foam wreath form and securely pin the moss to the form, then add your small plants making sure to cover the root balls with moss to keep from drying out. If you are hanging your wreath, take extra care in securing your plants by using thin, pliable wire. Living wreaths can also make great centerpieces. Try combining your wreath with candles floating in colored water for a vibrant tabletop decor.

Winter Flowering Bulbs

A bright floral display and fragrant aroma is always welcome in winter, but cut flowers fade all too quickly most of the time. Forcing flowering bulbs in winter keeps the blooms around much longer than cut florals.

Hyacinths, crocus, and narcissus bulbs can be forced in special glass vases with water. They can also be grown in shallow dishes of water filled with pebbles. Bulbs should be secured in the pebbles deeply enough so that its base is in contact with the water. Keep them in a cool, dark room for several weeks to ensure root growth. After roots have grown, place in a sunny location. Each bulb will send up several flower stems bearing many tiny blossoms. Once the flowers begin to open, take the plants out of direct sunlight to prolong the bloom.

Note: Unlike the bulbs planted in the ground, these plants are not able to regenerate and should be discarded.

Potted Plants

Potted plants instantly add life to any space any time of the year. Try using holiday plants in the place of cut foliage this year. Plants are easily moved around your space as you prepare for different holiday functions and can be "recharged" outside when need be. There are many suitable plants to choose from that you might not associate with the holidays. Try potted evergreens, boxwood and fir trees. Even herb topiaries are great and can do double duty in the kitchen for use in holiday recipes.

Blue and Brown for Christmas

This new classic color combination will look amazing paired with bronze too, so don't forget to add some shimmer to your decorating.

Try adding touches of this in your home decor with new pillows. Choose blue and brown ribbon decorate a wreath or give your entire tree an overhaul with brand new ornaments!

We even love this for decorating cookies too, especially gingerbread!

Think of this as your "winter" combination, not just for Christmas.

Fuschia and Lime for Christmas

Think of this color couple as the trendy, younger cousins to traditional red and green.

Use these colors to bring a fresh, modern look to your tree. Ornaments in fuschia and lime will especially look great on a white christmas tree.

Look for silk flowers and feathers in these bright colors to pair with your more traditional decorations or create new centerpieces or topiaries.

Purple and Gold for Christmas

Purple is such a regal hue and paired with gold it makes for a rich color combination for Christmas.

If you already have plenty of gold to decorate with, think about picking up a few boxes of purple balls for the tree or simply add a few decorative sprays to your existing decor.

Wrap your gifts this year in solid purple wrapping paper and add lots of gold ribbon for a beautiful presentation. The best part is if you have any purple paper left, you can use it all year long!

Baby Themed Christmas Tree

Whether expecting a new addition to the family or already have one, make the first Christmas even more memorable with a baby themed Christmas tree.

Hang the following on the tree:
  • Baby booties
  • Tie ribbon around wooden baby blocks and hang
  • Small stuffed bears with festive ribbon around the neck
  • Baby rattles
  • Baby bottles full of taffy or other lightweight candy
  • Plaster or clay hand prints (can use paper instead if branches are not strong)
  • Baby spoons, forks, utensils
  • Pacifiers
  • Bibs
  • Rubber ducks
  • Mittens
  • Small stockings and Santa hats
  • Photos of babies (For a baby tree I did for a charity festival of trees, I used magnetic photo frames made from acrylic with photos of grandchildren, using ribbon adorned with jingle bells to hang them on the tree.)
  • Pastel blue, pink or white bows
  • Washcloth garland (I had baby sized wash cloths pinned together with beads between each.....in a long strand that circled the tree)
  • Use blue lights for a boy's tree, pink for girl's--or keep with the traditional red and green color scheme.
  • Top tree with a stuffed bear or baby doll Baby blanket for tree skirt

Using Epsom salt to make ice-frosted windows

Makes realistic frost crystals overnight!

  1. Dissolve four heaping tablespoons of Epsom Salt in one cup of beer. The mixture will foam up, so be sure to use a bowl deep enough to contain the reaction.
  2. Allow mixture to sit for 30 minutes at room temperature, until the salts dissolve and the foam dissipates. It's OK if some salt crystals are in the bottom of the bowl.
  3. Using a terry cloth rag, apply the mixture to the window by dipping the rag into the solution, then sweeping it across the window as if you were washing it. While the window is still wet, go back and dab at it with the damp rag. This will make the frost crystals appear more realistic when dry.
  4. Allow the window to dry overnight. In the morning you will see the realistic frost crystals. If you "frosted" too much, use a damp rag to rub away parts of the crystals or use it to draw pretty designs or words.

Vintage Christmas Party Decor

Decorating for a vintage theme Christmas party is surprisingly affordable. A little ingenuity and a few hours are all it takes for a lovely nostalgic vibe for your party.

Decorating Supplies:

- Needle and strong thread
- Thin twine
- Mini clothespins
- 50 mini candy canes
- Gold craft paper
- A Printer
- Scissors
- Tape

Vintage Christmas Song Banners

1. Create vintage Christmas banners by printing out large letters onto sheets of gold craft paper. Each letter should be approximately three inches tall, which will allow you to fit six letters per sheet of paper.

2. Once your message is printed out onto the craft paper, find a circular object you can use to trace a circle cutout guide around each letter.

3. Finally, cut each circle out with scissors and tape it to the twine. Hang your Christmas greetings above doorways in your home, behind the buffet table, on the fireplace mantle or next to the Christmas tree. Lyrics from Christmas songs make lovely, unique greetings. Try the following for your own Christmas banners:

- Silent Night, Holy Night
- Deck the Halls
- Down Through the Chimney with Good Saint Nick
- Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
- Joy To the World
- Jingle Bells
- A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Vintage Christmas Postcard Decorating Ideas

1. Search Google Images for "vintage Christmas postcards" and download and save the high-quality images to a file.

2. Then, arrange four postcards to a page in a Word document and print out on thicker, ivory watercolor paper.

3. Finish by cutting out each postcard and using a mini wooden clothespin to hang it from the piece of twine. These can be wrapped around a Christmas tree as unique vintage garland, hung from doorways, draped across mirrors or placed underneath glass on glass-topped tables for an instant vintage vignette.

4. Two more ideas for using the vintage postcards is to use them for decorating Christmas cupcakes and for vintage drink stirrers. After printing out the postcards, use a 2" hole punch to cut out small scenes. Use tape or a hot glue gun to affix the mini scene to a toothpick (for the cupcake picks) or a long drink stirrer. Place the toothpick on the top of a frosted cupcake for a fun vintage twist on cupcake decorating, and garnish drinks with the vintage stirrers.

Popcorn Garlands

Old fashioned Christmas decorations often included long strings of popcorn garlands. Create your own by stringing kettle corn with needle and thread and hanging it around the tree. Kettle corn is ideal for this since the sugary coating preserves the popcorn longer so it won't taste stale if someone decides to steal a nibble from the vintage garlands.

Embroidered Velvet Christmas Stockings

Santa is sure to know whose is whose, with each family member's name delicately embroidered in coordinating metallic, gold thread. Beautifully crafted of plush velvet in rich shades of deep red and forest green, accented with elegant gold braided rope trim and hanging tassel.

Christmas Star Decoration

Add a rich splash of holiday color to your Christmas decorations. A metal star embellished with faux Christmas holly berries and red checked bow can decorate your home beautifully indoors or outside in a protected area. Includes a hanging loop for easy display.

These colorful train ornaments couldn't be cuter each with its own theme and titles like, "Choo Choo Chimes," "Deck the Rails," and "Cool Yule Caboose." Beautiful holiday details accent the ornaments from gifts to Santa himself. Each ornament retails for $65.

Under the Christmas Toy Land Scene

Yes, on Christmas morning there will be wrapped toys aplenty under the tree. Why not create a toy land scene as decor to warm up the landing place for Santa.

Run some of these ideas by your kids and then go to town creating a playful montage under the Christmas tree.

  • Nutcracker Theme - Nutcrackers can be expensive collectibles or very affordable, especially at closeout stores around the holidays. Gather about 5 nutcrackers and set them up under the tree on a pooled satin piece of cloth. Scatter nuts in their shells around the nutcracker's feet for a fun display.
  • Penguin Theme - Everyone seems to adore penguins. Create a penguin wonderland under the tree by placing a snow blanket on the ground and populating it with playful penguins. Place a trio of penguins skating on a mirror, sledding down a hill, or just hanging around in the snow.
  • Babes in Toyland - Pull out the jack-in-the-boxes, rag dolls, and other classic toys, and arrange a toy land under the tree. Lay a colorful cloth or tree skirt down first and then arrange toys in groups. Lean toys against each other or on wrapped gifts. Place a ball in between a teddy bear and baby doll as if they are playing with each other.

Under the Christmas Tree Model Train Scene

Model train enthusiasts, who don't have the full on train set up in their basement, wait all year long to get their best trains on track under the Christmas tree. Here are a few ideas for your own holiday train scenario.

To Set Up A Train Scene:

  • Lay a foundation for the set up that will not interfere with the train. You may want to place plywood boards down and then staple a cotton snow blanket to it or a flat green landscape covering.
  • Consider your plan for running and masking electrical cords that may be necessary to power the train.
  • Set up the tracks and the trains.
  • Give the scene personality by having the train run though villages with houses and structures or forests with wildlife.
  • Accent the train with a holiday wreath on the front engine or gifts in an open boxcar.
  • Check craft stores or hobby shops for more train related items and embellishments.

Under the Christmas Tree Village

From Department 56 collectible town homes to pint-size pine trees, a snowy village scene under the Christmas tree is a prized showcase in many holiday homes.

Those who envision Christmas with images of Dickens' cottages or quaint New England villages are probably familiar with Department 56 collectibles.

Department 56 is the leader in holiday collectibles offering thematic series that include lighted buildings, village people, accessories, and more. You can chose to set up a tableau under the tree in the style of an Alpine Village, the North Pole, even Christmas in the City.

Visit their website for inspiration and to pick up a few key collectibles, and then fill in the scene with some of the ideas below.

To Set Up A Village Scene:

  • Lay a foundation for your chosen theme. Most use a cotton snow blanket in keeping with the season.
  • Consider your plan for running and masking electrical cords should you want any of the homes to light up.
  • Set the buildings in place first. Feature collectible buildings as a focal point and then fill in with less expensive houses or structures that are in theme. Check craft stores or hobby shops for affordable items.
  • Finish off the village with small pine trees and elements from nature or urban items such as a lamppost or town mailbox.
  • Liven up the scene with miniature people or animals. Place skaters on a small round mirror as a pond. Set kids in the snow with miniature sleds. Arrange deer and wildlife in a forested enclave.

Ornament Wreath and Topiary

Red, blue, teal and bronze holiday balls of varying sizes and finishes are accented with pinecones to form truly classy accents. Wreath is on a lightweight foam base and has rear hang hook for easy display indoors or in a protected area. Pair with the matching topiary "planted" in a ceramic container for a stunning decorator touch!

Handprint Christmas Stockings

Give each member of the family a holiday keepsake they can make uniquely their own. The padded red canvas stocking comes with white non-toxic acrylic paint, so they can decorate it with handprints, snowflakes or whatever they please. It's generously sized and topstitched all around to hold lots of goodies. The soft, white velboa cuff can be personalized.

Handprint Christmas Tree Skirt

Create a treasured keepsake together, and launch a new holiday tradition. Take a red canvas tree skirt with white and green non-toxic acrylic paint, so that each member of the family can add their hand (or paw) print. Add additional prints each year as the family grows or to mark another holiday spent together. Birder the broad skirt with soft, snowy white velboa and personalize.

Charlie Brown Christmas Party Decor

Created in the 60s, A Charlie Brown Christmas is all about the simple nostalgia of the holiday season. Decorations are easy and homemade, with a rustic charm that gets guests into the holiday spirit of a bygone era.

Pennant Banners

Evoke old-fashioned party decor by crafting homemade pennant banners.

1. Simply cut square pieces of green and red craft paper in half diagonally to form triangles.

2. Write one letter per triangle to spell out Christmas phrases or lines from the movie, like the famous, "It's Christmas, Charlie Brown!" quote.

3. Use tape to affix the pennants to a piece of twine or Christmas ribbon. Finally, hang the pennant banner along a wall or entryway to a room for homemade decor with vintage appeal.

Popcorn Strings

Along with pennant banners, create popcorn strings to hang from doorways and string across rooms. Popcorn strings were a classic part of Charlie Brown's Christmas decor, and they should be part of yours as well.

1. Pop 3 - 4 bags worth of popcorn and allow to cool completely.

2. Thread clear fishing line through a needle and use it to string long lines of popcorn.

3. Hang as desired for a thoroughly 60s Christmas.

Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

It wouldn't be a Charlie Brown Christmas without a replica of Charlie's humble, wilting little Christmas tree. Either create your own with a sparse branch cut off a larger tree, or buy one online. Target offers their own 18" tall version of Charlie's tree for only $14.99, complete with a lone red ornament dragging down the branches.

Make over your main party room in the style of merry old England by adding faux stained glass accents and lush holiday greenery.

Stained Glass Window Clings

Give windows the look of antique stained glass by using static cling window decorations and adhesive lead tape.

Here's how:

  • Choose a static cling window design set that suits your decor.
  • Apply the cling to your window.
  • Cut strips of adhesive lead tape to connect the pieces in the window cling design set to complete the look.
  • Apply adhesive tape lightly so it will be easier to remove when the party is over. If you have concerns about adhesive residue on your windows, simply use the window clings without the lead tape.

Holiday Greenery & Garland

Make your party warm and inviting with lush greenery.

  • Decorate lengths of pine garland with wired ornaments and velvet bows. Drape garland over doorways and across fireplace mantles.
  • Hang wreaths on doors and in front of mirrors using velvet ribbon.
  • Dangle mistletoe wherever you can!

Places and Spaces for Nativity Scenes

How do you go about displaying a nativity scene without making your home look like a scene from "Ten Commandments?" Bigger isn't always better...

  • Miniature, fragile glass nativity scenes look classy on end tables and desks.
  • Colorful, medium-sized nativity scenes are best as table centerpieces.
  • Save the larger nativity scenes for the front yard only!

Mardi Gras Christmas Tree

Your Mardi Gras Christmas tree will add a festive flair to any room. All you need is:

  • Different sized masks with feathers, rhinestones and sparkles
  • Colorful beaded necklaces
  • White Christmas lights

Candy Cane Wonderland Decor

Oversize candy canes lining your entryway will welcome guests in sweet holiday style. Once inside, a red and white wonderland awaits!

Here's How:

  • Drape your buffet table with a red or white tablecloth.
  • Set up red and white glazed 3 -inch tiles, available at many home improvement stores, in a checkerboard pattern on the table.
  • Fill rectangular glass vases with candy canes as in the photo.

Christmas Around the World Theme Party: Decorations

Depending on the size and layout of the party location, decorate individual areas (use tables and banners to delineate spaces) or even separate rooms in traditional Christmas decorations from around the world. As guests move about, they can "visit" each country and experience what Christmas is like there.

Modern Christmas Cocktail Party: Decor

It can be hard to shake the idea that Christmas decorations always involve classic red and green. That is just not the case, especially when it is for a modern soiree. Put a twist on the color combo and use hot pink and lime green instead. Used on traditional decorations, these colors put some pop in party decor.
  • O Christmas Tree How about dozens of trees in shades of pink and lime? Choose different sizes and shapes in funky materials like tinsel, glitter and even candy. Then scatter them throughout the party venue grouping some together for impact.
  • Ornament Hang Up Let the ceiling be the decorative focal point of the party. Using fishing line cut in various lengths, hang simple ball ornaments around the room. You could also arrange bunches from light fixtures for a cool chandelier effect. Use brightly colored ornaments or buy clear glass ones and make your own.

Decorations for a Mexican Christmas Party

Walk into any Mexican home during the holidays and it'll be bursting with bold red Noche Buenas, better known as Poinsettias.

Gingerbread Men Indoor Wreath

Create a whimsical indoor wreath that you can enjoy when the weather outside is frightful. This idea is a simpler take on a wreath inspired by Martha Stewart Kids.

Supplies:

- Enough dough & cooking supplies to make twenty full-sized gingerbread men. Try doubling this Gingerbread men recipe.
- 3 feet of pretty red or green ribbon to tie up your wreath.

Instructions:

1. After cutting out all your gingerbread men, place the figures on a pan and place the pan in the freezer for ten minutes.

2. Create a circle with your gingerbread men by overlapping hands and feet until youve completed a full circle. Make sure your pan is large enough to hold the circle!

3. Pinch each hand and foot together gently so the dough bakes together and forms a permanent bond. Place circle of gingerbread men in the oven to bake.

4. After baking, allow the gingerbread men wreath to cool for an hour or so. Weave your ribbon in and out between the gingerbread mens bodies. Leave about eight inches of extra ribbon hanging off at each end, and tie into a bow at the end of the ribbon. Hang your wreath from the bow.

Winter Wonderland Wreath

This beautiful white wreath will have you dreaming of a white Christmas, even in California.

Supplies:

- Four bunches of bleached babys breath
- 10-20 branches of white sparkling curly willow or curly ting
- Two or three large white or silver faux flowers for embellishment
- White Styrofoam wreath form in a 16 inch size
- Hot Glue Gun
- Clear fishing wire

Instructions:

1. Cut all of your babys breath branches into four inch long mini branches. Discard the bottoms of the branches that do not have flowers attached to them.

2. Take a small bunch (5 or so mini branches) between your fingers and poke the ends into the Styrofoam. Make sure the place them deep enough in that they are secure (about one inch deep).

3. Continue inserting branches until the entire Styrofoam wreath is covered. The resulting look should be ethereal and will resemble a snow flurry.

4. Cut down the sparkly curly willow or curly tang branches and insert into the Styrofoam every few inches so it adds a visual punch to your wreath.

5. Insert your flower or flowers in one location to finish off the winter wonderland wreath.

Christmas Berries & Birds Wreath

This flora and fauna-themed wreath is incredibly easy to make and adds a great burst of red to your holiday decor.

Supplies:
- A few bunches of branches covered in red berries (these can be artificial or real). The huckleberry branches with faux red berries from Save-on-crafts work wonderfully.
- Scissors
- Clear fishing line
- Two small feather-covered bird figures (robins or cardinals work best)
- A 12 or 16 wreath frame

Instructions:

1. Begin by tying the stem end of a berry branch to the wire wreath frame with clear fishing line. Shape the berry branch around the wreath in a circular shape, and tie the branch to the wire every eight to twelve inches.

2. Continue to fill out the wreath by adding more and more berry branches, until you can no longer see the wire wreath frame.

3. Pick two spots to place the small red birds on your garland. A cute configuration is to put one bird on the bottom left of the wreath, as if it is resting on the inside of your wreath. Place the other bird on the top right side of the wreath as if it is perched on top. Work the birds legs into the wreath branches, and tie the legs onto the branches with clear fishing wire for extra security.

3. Add wings by wrapping the wire around the middle of a bowtie pasta piece and twisting it so its tightly secured to the piece of pasta. This is where the wire the angel will hang from on the tree, so make sure it is long enough to do the job.
4. Glue the bowtie pasta with wire attached to the back of the angel to create wings.
5. After all the glue is dry, paint the angel with the cream paint and allow to dry.
6. Using the red pen, draw on a mouth in the shape of an O for a singing angel. Or, simply draw on a smile.
7. Using the black pen, draw eyes on the angel. For singing angels, you can draw on half crescents to represent closed eyes.
8. Apply a good layer of craft glue to the top of the angels head and glue on the curly hair.
9. Finally, use the gold wire to create a little round halo. You can attach the halo onto the gold wire the angel is hanging from so it appears as if the halo is floating above the angels head.
10. Create a whole parade of angels to hang around the tree, or to decorate a table with.

Decorative Glass Ball Ornaments

For equally impressive Christmas ornaments that take a little of your time, try creating your own personalized bulbs from clear glass ornaments.

Here are a few crafty ideas on how to dress them up:

Christmas Characters

Using fine paint markers, draw creatures on your bulbs. Some characters to try:
  • Reindeer
  • Penguins
  • Angels
  • Mice
  • Polar Bears
  • Gingerbread Men (and women!)
  • Santa Claus

Glittered Snowballs & Snowflakes

1. First, paint a layer of glue over the entire bulb.
2. Next, use a spoon to drizzle white glitter over the ball until it is completely covered.
3. Attach mistletoe or holly leaves and berries at the top to complete the festive look, and tie it to the tree with a red ribbon.

To make a glittered snowflake:

1
. Use a white paint pen to draw on the shape of a snowflake onto the ball.
2. Using a paintbrush, carefully retrace the white pen with glue.
3. Use a spoon to spoon white glitter over the glue for sparkly snowflake.

Simply Elegant Table Display Ideas

A couple of embellishments on tabletop items can turn an ordinary centerpiece into a stunning display. Choose a color scheme and tone, such as creamy whites with metallic accents, and carry the theme throughout your dcor. Some simple ideas to adorn to your holiday table:
  • Insert ornamental flowers, like calla lilies, in a medium-sized wreath (12-inch diameter). Lay the wreath on a footed glass cake plate in the center of the table.
  • Tie beautiful wide ribbon around pillar candles. Place candles on a dish and surround them with mini gold or silver ornaments.
  • Use table runners along the length and width of your table. Attach a holiday trinket, ornament, or a bow to the ends of the runners.
  • Atmosphere

Ho Ho Ho and Fa-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la! Create a festive room with groovy music, jingle bells, botanical tree trim kits, mistle toe and dazzling silver accents.

These items are great as both decorations and they make super party favors.
    • Candy cane candles, ginger bread houses and silver gift boxes add holiday cheer to even the plainest white plates and serving bowls.

    • One of my favorites continues to be the scrumptious chocolate filled christmas cookie cutters.

    • The room will come alive, shimmer and twinkle with color changing Icicle Party String Lights that will keep the party going for hours.

    Candy Land Buffet

Little hands will be busy at work, and little tummies will get hungry. To entice the kids away from the miles of candy on the decorating station, create a Candy Land display on the food buffet.
    • Place a bright red cloth on the table and arrange oversize candy and wrapped Christmas presents in the center. Lean large 20" long candy canes and a giant 5lb. Hershey's candy bar against the gifts.

    • Fill in around the base with an assortment of colorful hard candies and plop down a couple of gumdrop trees. For a more affordable option, consider using faux candy decorations, such as these candy canes and peppermint candies.
