Christmas Drinks

Christmas drinks are a delicious treat to serve at Christmas parties, to complement Christmas dinner or to simply enjoy during the Christmas season. From creative eggnog recipes to cocktails infused with peppermint, nutmeg and cinnamon, we've got plenty of cocktail and hot drink recipes to try this Christmas season.

Warm everyone's spirits before they venture out in song by serving hot mugs of Wassail. Not only is Wassail a warm spiced and sweetened beverage made from ale or wine, the word is also a salutation as well as the action of  "toasting to one's health."

Mull a pot of Wassail and keep it warm on the stovetop for guests to indulge in before and after caroling. Serve a selection of cheese and crackers as nibblers and or consider a potluck of appetizers as suggested in our Progressive Holiday Hors d'oeuvre article.

Bailey's is the quintessential holiday liqueur. Create a vessel worthy of this caramel libation by dipping the rim of a Martini glass in melted chocolate and then dressing it up with chocolate sprinkles.

Serve this to the kids during cocktail hour on Christmas Day.  Amen.

Perfect for morning brunch or a sensational cajun dinner.

Knock guests socks off at your party with this fresh take on the Gibson cocktail and a chic chive spear garnish. A generous splash of club soda gives this old country club cocktail a contemporary edge.

The pale green color of this drink is absolutely lovely as a holiday cocktail. Use an opaque drink to showcase exceptional glassware such as the Riedel "O" series Martini glasses featured in the photo.

Cool and refreshing, this alcohol-free drink is given a holiday touch by submerging a frozen shot glass made from ice, fresh mint and cranberries into the glass.

Serve this spicy twist on winter's favorite indulgence with whipped cream.

This is my favorite holiday beverage to serve at parties. Whip up a batch for a crowd and present it in a round chafer with a ladle for guests to help themselves. Serve with chocolate-dipped marshmallows decorated with Christmas sprinkles for the ultimate celebration in cup.
