More Party Ideas

I'm sure I've written numerous times before that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Besides the fact that Thanksgiving about giving thanks and being appreciative of what you have, nothing excites me more than sitting around a table all day eating course after course of my favorite foods.

With Thanksgiving nearly three weeks away, I thought I should look into a few more creative ways I can cook my bird this year. Of course I can always just just my typical herbs, wine and butter recipe, but after I came across some insanely creative new ideas, I knew I had to give one of them a try.

Scroll through the gallery and check out my top 10 most creative ways you can cook your turkey this year. You won't be disappointed!

Bacon-Blanketed Herb Roasted Turkey

Take your boring old herbed turkey recipe up to the next level! The Runaway Spoon took 1.5 pounds of bacon and weaved it into a lattice, laid it on the top of the turkey and enjoyed a glass of bourbon while the bird cooked.

Buffalo Roasted Turkey

Are you obsessed with wings? Love buffalo chicken pizza? Is Frank's Red Hot your favorite condiment? Then this recipe is about to rock your world. Chow recently posted this buffalo roasted chicken with an insanely amazing homemade bleu cheese dipping sauce that is a must make for all hot sauce lovers this Thanksgiving.

Cajun Deep Fried Turkey

If deep frying your turkey isn't enough to make your taste buds happy, the addition of a cajun rub definitely will. Savory Reviews makes a mean marinade that they inject into the turkey before they toss it into the deep frier.

Asian Rubbed Turkey

Main ingredients in this oven baked turkey include Thai basil, Sriracha chile sauce and fresh ginger for an all over Asian-infused dish. A Spicy Perspective creates a special rub for the outside of the bird and stuffs the inside with fresh herbs.

Tequila Lime Turkey

Get a bottle of gold tequila ready along with your food processor for this boozy recipe! Inspired Taste pulsed together a medley of citrus flavors, jalapenos and spices to create an entising rub for your turkey this year.

Golden Crockpot Turkey

If cooking isn't your forte, this might be the easiest recipe for you to try. The Hyper House literally just stuffs her raw turkey with chucks of butter, herbs and onions, then sticks it in the crockpot and pours a boat load of pinot grigio on top. Now that's my kind of turkey!

Pomegranate Glazed Turkey

This glazed turkey is slathered in pomegranate juice, sugar and butter. Steffen's Dinners filled this crispy, yet juicy turkey with a chestnut sausage stuffing.

Orange Apple Cider Brined Turkey

Ditch your usual brine recipe and try a citrus version from The Pioneer Woman. A few of her key ingredients include orange zest, brown sugar, rosemary sprigs, peppercorn and of course apple cider.
