
These cocoa bourbon balls melt in your mouth and are a unique way to use bourbon as a dessert ingredient.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Pecans
- 8 Oz Vanilla Wafers
- 1/2 Cup Unsweetened coca, divided
- 1 Cup Confectioner's Sugar, divided
- 1/4 Cup Light Corn Syrup
- 1/4 Cup Bourbon
Steps
- Preheat over to 325 degrees.
- Spread the pecans on a cookie sheet and bake for three minutes. Turn, then bake another three minutes. Be careful not to burn them.
- In a food processor pulse the vanilla wafers until they are finely crushed. Add the pecans and pulse until chopped.
- In a bowl combine the crushed pecans and wafers with ¼ cup of the cocoa, ¼ cup of the sugar, the corn syrup and the bourbon.
- On a large plate, sift the remaining ¼ cup of cocoa and sugar. Shape the crumb mixture into one-inch balls and roll them in the sugar/cocoa mixture.
