Set the party up in the kitchen - it's as much fun as it is messy! Create an area for candy making supplies and another area for light party food and drink.
Materials for Candy Making
You don't need a copper kettle or candy thermometer for this event. Keep the candy making on a home kitchen level with these basic items:
- Specific kits or materials for the type of candy you are making such as lollipops, chocolate-topped pretzels, or molded chocolates. Go to Wilton on line for supplies or check out your local Michael's Arts and Crafts Store.
- Melting chocolate in a variety of colors.
- Microwave and microwave-safe bowls to melt the chocolate in.
- Spoons to stir chocolate, toothpicks or skewers, and maybe food-safe needle nose bottles to design details like eyes on cute animal-shaped lollipop.
- Plenty of paper towels for clean up.
