I have so many friends who are pastry chefs and can make amazing fussy frostings from scratch. I take the tasty yet easy way out and make this great ganache for all my homemade chocolate frosted cakes. Otherwise I go for the creamy goodness of frosting in a can!
Ingredients
1 1/3 cups heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
Steps
Bring cream to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Place chocolate chips in a medium bowl and pour hot cream over chocolate stirring until completely smooth. Cool to room temperature then cover and chill until ready to use.
Remove chocolate mixture from refrigerator and beat until mixture thickens to consistency of frosting.Makes about 3 cups
