Hands and Feet Turkey
The shape of little kid hands make perfect feathers. Add the outline of feet and you have a turkey that is just their size. Not only is this craft good for learning about the popular Thanksgiving bird, when made year after year, it is a creative way to compare how much children have grown between holidays. There are different versions of this project around the web, but here are basic instructions from AmazingMoms.com. Display the turkeys on a bulletin board or string a bunch of them together as garland. They will be a conversation starter among holiday guests.

Preparation
  • Supplies:

    • construction paper in brown, black, orange, red, yellow , white
    • scissors
    • glue
    • wiggle eyes, optional

Steps
  • Make the turkey tail feathers by tracing your child's hand

on colored paper and cut out 6-8 times in a variety of colors.

  • For the turkey body, trace feet (shoes on)

    and cut from paper.

  • Glue the two feet together, spreading them

    slightly apart at the bottom.

  • Glue the "tail feathers" to construction paper overlapping them, to take on the appearance of feathers.

  • Glue the "body" on top. Add a few more hands if you want.

Attach wiggle eyes. Cut and glue or draw paper beak,

    wattle and feet.
