Choose easy-to-munch finger foods that won't spoil quickly in the heat, such as blue corn chips with Homemade Guacamole as well as fresh cut fruit and vegetables.
Ingredients
- Four ripe avocados
- Juice from 2 small limes
- Half Tablespoon garlic powder
- Half Tablespoon chili pepper
- Half a chopped red onion
- Four seeded cherry tomatoes, chopped
- Half Tablespoon Louisiana Hot Sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For extra spicy, add half a chopped chipotle pepper
Steps
- Halve and empty contents of avocados into a large bowl; use fork to mash into chunks
- Add garlic powder and chili pepper, mix well
- Fold in onion, tomatoes, and chipotle pepper (if using)
- Mix hot sauce and lime juice together; add to guacamole and mix well
- Salt and pepper to taste and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving
