The décor for a James Bond theme party needs to give off a classy, glamorous and mysterious vibe. Guns, sparkle and intrigue provide the feel you need.
- Keep the lights low to accentuate decorations. Use a dimmer to adjust lighting. Or, bring in a variety of lamps for strategic spots and leave the ceiling fixtures off altogether.
- Buy black, gold and silver balloons, which are great for a party on a budget. At first, they may not seem like the most sophisticated choice, but the demure colors keep them from veering into circus-like territory.
- Hang oversize gun cutouts from the ceiling; everyone knows James Bond loves his pistol. Enlist an artistic friend to draw gun shapes onto cardboard or foam core board. Paint them black for a silhouette effect, cut them out and hang them from fishing line. If you want, accent with silver paint or glitter to help them stand out in the dim lighting.
- Pay tribute to some of the most popular James Bond films. Find movie posters or still shots to hang as art or place on stands as table decorations.
- Decorate with diamonds. Nothing says glitz and glamour like diamonds, even if they aren’t real. Sprinkle the faux jewels on buffet tables and bars. You can also use hot glue to attach them to ribbon or wire to use as garland on tables, doorways or anywhere you need sparkle.
