For a centerpiece alternative, try this fresh idea. Create personal flower arrangements for each of your guests using mini pumpkins (commonly known as Jack-Be-Littles).
Steps
Supplies: One mini pumpkin per guest (each should be 3" wide x 2" high) Utility knife Melon baller or tablespoon Fall-colored flowers such as Dahlia or Gerbera daisies Real or faux maple leavesInstructions: Use a utility knife to cut off the pumpkin's stem. Then, use a melon baller or tablespoon to scoop out a small hole about 2 inches deep. Group three to four flowers in a bunch and trim the stems to about 2 inches. When placed inside the pumpkin, just the heads should be visible. Fill the pumpkins with a few teaspoons of water and insert the flowers. Place one large or two smaller maple leaves near each place setting and put the mini pumpkin on top.
