Although many believe that Ernest Hemingway is the person we have to thank for the Margarita, there is a lot of evidence that points to the contrary.
The earliest mention of a cocktail specifically named Margarita was in 1953 in Esquire magazine, which describes how to make this south-of-the-border quencher.
Enjoy a frosty blended Margarita on a summer day or a cocktail on the rocks with a salty rim using this recipe.
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. tequila
1/2 oz. triple sec
3 oz. lemon or lime juice or sweet and sour mix
Lime wedge, salt, and lime slice for garnish

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a Margarita glass and dip the rim in Margarita salt. Add ice cubes into the Margarita glass. Pour ingredients into glass and stir. Garnish with a lime slice.
